Welcome to Freebie Friday! Hopefully you’ve heard a few good things about our new special issue Go-to Sketches. If you’re still curious about what this magazine is all about, it’s essentially 162 pages spotlighting 282 projects, inspired by 66 sketches. Got that?
To add to all that fun, each Paper Crafts Go-to Gal has their own section (complete with a one-page introduction!) that features projects made from each of their 11 new sketches. And as Matt pointed out yesterday, the fun part about creating this issue was shooting everything on white. The result: 282 projects and 66 sketches that “pop” off the page!
So are you ready for Go-to Sketches Week? Once again we’re partnering with creative editor Cath Edvalson and her Moxie Fab World blog to bring you five days of sketch-filled fun. In addition, because our Go-to Gals are featured so prominently in this issue, all six of them will be involved in our very special promotional week. I’d love to spill the beans, but I’m sworn to secrecy! It’s going to be THAT cool!
In honor of Easter this weekend, I thought I would share a “hoppy” project from the pages of Go-to Sketches. The talented Heidi Van Laar created this adorable Easter Basket Card from one of Betsy Veldman’s sketches. To download the pattern for this card, please click HERE.
Isn’t that just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? And because I believe grown-ups should have Easter baskets too, I’ve got a few goodies to put in yours! Leave a comment telling me your favorite Easter candy and I’ll pick three winners to receive a fun paper collection from A Muse Artstamps, Pink Paislee’s Vintage Pop stamp set, a Paper Crafts Connection button AND a copy of Go-to Sketches! The Easter Bunny is feeling very generous this year! All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, April 4.
P.S. Between now and Sunday, April 4, you can purchase Go-to Sketches through our online store and save 20%! Click HERE to buy your copy!
We love our Freebie Fridays around here – getting product in the hands of our talented readers is one of our very favorite parts of doing this little blog of ours. I’m always entertained when I see what hoops our blog hostess P. Kelly has lined up for you to jump through in order to enter the contest.
For example, on the Friday before Valentine’s Day, she got you all thinking about love when she sent you on a hunt through our “Quotable You” feature to find the authors of a few quotes. Seek and find is one of my favorites, and judging by the dozens of entries on that Freebie Friday, I’d say it’s one of yours, too!
Winners received this heart-warming selection of love-themed goodies:
One of our winners was Kelly Marberry, who took advantage of her product right away and made this adorable card to say thanks:
But what really warmed our hearts was Kelly’s message inside:
The cycle of creativity, from inspiration to product to completed projects, is what keeps us going around here. Thanks, Kelly, for taking the time to show us your stuff – and we’ll look forward to hearing more from you, too!
From my heart,
P.S. Kelly wanted me to announce the winners from last week’s Freebie Friday – March/April I-Spy! Drum roll, please! Congratulations to Jaquelyn, Belinda, Jeni, Cass and Vianna! She’ll be e-mailing you shortly for your mailing addresses. Thanks to all who left comments and played along!
