Welcome to Freebie Friday! Did you know today is National Boss Day in the U.S.? It was launched in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski, an Illinois secretary. Patricia was an appreciative daughter who worked for her dad, and his birthday just happened to be on Oct. 16! That’s how National Boss Day became the day to honor bosses.
Here at Paper Crafts, we just celebrated the one year anniversary of Jennifer Schaerer joining the team as our editor-in-chief. And although she doesn’t like the spotlight or people making a fuss over her, I just couldn’t let this opportunity go by (it is National Boss Day, after all!) to thank her publicly for all her many contributions this past year. Her infectious “yes, we can!” attitude is not only inspiring, but oh, so fun to be around! I mean, just look how much fun she had with our Halloween theme last year…
And since I don’t want to cause Jennifer any further embarrassment (too late!), I’m going to take the spotlight off her and remind everyone that today is the perfect day to give your boss a handmade card. Whether they’re male or female, I’m sure they would love a little note of thanks for a job well done. (And if you make and give away a card this week, you’ll be eligible to win one of the prize packages from Brandy’s Real Women Read Paper Crafts post!)
Since our boss is a big fan of Halloween (click HERE to download our BOO! poem), today’s giveaway is in honor of Jennifer! One lucky person will win this spooktacular prize package from SEI! Just leave a comment telling me the name of a current/former boss who has made a difference in your life. All comments must be received by midnight (MDT) on Sunday, Oct. 18.
Happy National Boss Day!
