I feel really lucky that my turn to write a blog post fell on this exciting Cards & Gifts Week. Creating gifts for my friends and loved ones never gets old to me. It’s so fun to see their faces light up when they receive such a gift.
Sometimes creating a gift for a neighbor, or someone you don’t know as well, becomes more of a challenge. When in doubt, I take a humorous turn. Every loves a giggle. I created this gift set with a new neighbor in mind. It would work equally as well for someone who has recently been ill, or just for someone who needs a pick-me-up. Hey! Did you know it’s Administrative Professionals Day today? How fun would it be to give this gift to an awesome co-worker?

Your popcorn gift set is so cute! I love the joke on the front!
My favorite treat to wrap and give are dog treats to my friends with dogs! I’ve given dog treat jars to my furry friends as Christmas gifts. I’m happy to say, especially since this is Earth Day, that I recycle jars, and I use large plastic jars for the dog treats! I also love that there are so many awesome pet scrapbooking products, because my jars are always stylin’!
The American Crafts goodies are fantastic!

Well, what I have received great reviews on was the “Date Night” gift box I gave my guardians. I got a huge gift box and filled it with different flavors of microwavable popcorn, an assortment of candies, and a gift card to a movie rental store.
Another raved gift box I gave was one I gave to my daughter’s teacher at Christmas. I filled it with pound cake, an assortment of cookies and crackers(all homemade), a clipboard w/Walmart giftcard, altered pen, and a few other altered items. She informed me that when her sons, home from college w/friends) had finished up the food, they wanted it refilled with other baked goods. That treat filled box has now become a tradition in their home every Christmas.

I love your popcorn gift set! How adorable! I love to take the little mailing labels you get from the office supply store, stamp on them and wrap them around the little miniature size candy bars and give them away. I also have created my own template using and resembling the Stride gum containers so it folds up in a neat little package and will hold 6 of the mini candy bars. Decorate the outside and I have a neat little package to give away. For neighbors, I love to make muffins. Use the muffin mix you can get at the store for less than $1, bake ‘em up easy peasy, stick them on a plate from the $1 store and put a little handmade card with them. My neighbors love ‘em!
Thanks for the chance to win such an awesome prize package!

I love to gift homemade jam. We are lucky enough to have access to alot of fresh berries in our area, we even grow our own raspberries, strawberries and gooseberries. It’s super easy to make homemade jam and decorating the jars is a cinch. A few different varieties in a basket with a card and voila! Who doesn’t love jam?!

Oh, how I would love to win! I don’t really give a particular food item as a gift with any sort of regularity — though there has certainly been a LOT of inspiration to do so around here lately! But, that said, I am a fan of the peppermint patties turned into seasonal characters (spiders/ghosts for Halloween, turkeys for Thanksgiving, etc. etc.) projects that are/have been popular on the web lately! Thanks for the adorable project idea and the chance to win!

Cute project. Love the wire basket – where did it come from? Love, love, love American Crafts anything. I have a coup of foodie gifts that I do pretty regularly – one is oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and I usually stack a few in a narrow box for presentation; the other is homemade soups (especially squash bisque and brocolli cheese) and I use quart jars to give them in, sometimes with some crackers or a cute soup mug.

Probably the only time I give food as gifts would be a Christmas time. I make the most decadent Chocolate coated Rum Balls. No matter how many I make it’s never enough.

Yum! What a fun question. Favorite food to give as a gift would probably have to be my friend Linda’s homemade fudge. I’ve had the recipe for ages, it makes a huge batch, and is oh, so, yummy! Favorite food to receive as a gift – my friend Alice’s secrety family hot fudge topping sauce. She hasn’t spilled the beans yet, but I’m still hoping that one day she’ll share the recipe. Thanks for a chance to win such a great prize pack. Can hardly wait until the magazine comes out next week.

What a wonderful prize package to win!!! My favorite things to wrap up and give away are white chocolate covered pretzels. I also like to give away cupcakes and individual bags of microwave popcorn! I’ve given Kit Kat bars and Nuggets away the most, though, and those are a lot of fun to wrap up, too! Thanks for offering such a great treat!

I absolutely love this collection; all of my favorite colors! My favorite things to wrap up as gifts are cookies and pretzel headlights (small pretzel, melt a Hershey’s kiss on top, then push an M&M into the middle of the kiss. They’re delish!). I usually just pack them in a nice crisp, clear cello bag and pop a fancy topper on it.

I love to gift my friends and family with homemade candies. I’ll make chocolate covered marshmallow pops, or nuts, raisins and mini-marshmallows mixed with chocolate and drop them into little candy cups. The request I get the most though is my chocolate covered potato chips. I take a really good thick cut potato chip, melt my favorite combo of chocolate and dip half the chip in the chocolate mixture, then set aside to dry on wax paper. I then package them in little bags I’ve decorated and stamped. I only do 1/2 the chip, this way in one bite you get sweet and salty.

We have been doing this for more than 20 years. We honestly bake about 1200 cookies each year. We try to add one new recipe each year too, but must also bake our tried and true ones too.
