Hi fellow paper crafting enthusiasts! Welcome to our new blog. Is this exciting or what?
When Kelly asked me to write about “what inspires me” I really had to think for a bit. The problem? I’m inspired by everything! The colors in my house, the wildflowers starting to bloom here in Arizona, the new shirt I just bought. Sigh. Inspiration is everywhere.
Having said that, I thought I would go ahead and focus on a trend that has caught my eye lately. It might not be quite what you are expecting, though. Read on.
I am inspired by mustaches. Mustaches? Yep, mustaches. They are showing up just about everywhere. On t-shirts:
In wedding photos:
And, if you follow this link, in family photo shoots like these from San Diego Photographer Tara Whitney.
They have even crept into the paper crafting scene. I adore these rub-ons by the iconic Hambly Screen Prints:
Since I don’t happen to have those rub-ons here at my fingertips, I have created a card featuring a hand-cut mustache. This card is going in reserve for my Dad (since I can’t talk my husband into growing a mustache. Just to see what it looks like, you know).

I hope you get a giggle out of this silly post. I really am being serious in my own quirky way. Be sure to leave a comment and tell me about the mustaches in your life! Heh.
Good paper crafting to you!

ant me.
Great post! I love that cartoon!! I have the opposite problem from you, Kim, I met my husband in 1996. I have never seen him without a beard or mustache : ) I have asked him over the years to cut it “just to see what he looks like” (wink!) but I doubt he ever will – so it is a jolly good thing! I like mustaches!!
Fun post and GREAT blog!!

How fun! I love the idea of a talking mustache with legs on a card, LOL. Little fact about me . . . . I’ve been married for 13 years, have been with my husband for 15 years, and I’ve NEVER seen his top lip! He will never cut off his mustache because he says he has a mole, I think it’s because he’s misterious and handsome with it on. LOL

This is to fun! My Dad has a mustache and has shaved it off once or twice in my 35 years and he just does not look right without it being there. My Dad+Mustache = Joy.
Thanks for the fun post!

I love the silliness that this design trend inspired in your article! My hubby, too has a mustache, has for over 20 years. And he doesn’t look the same without it, either!

Hee Hee Hee! How funny! Well my dad had one about 20 yrs ago. He had it for a few weeks and then off it came. My Father In Law had one for as long as my husband could remember and then one day a year or two ago he shaved it off and we have yet to see it make it’s re-appearance.

That’s too funny. I recently downloaded some embellishments for my digital scrapbooking and in there was this funky mustache. I wondered about it (I’m a day late and dollar short when it comes to styles). So, there it is. Glad I read this post!
